How It Works

Make every share a shared conversation.

A straightforward process for documenting composition credits and proposed songwriting ownership.

01

Create the Song Record

Add a song title, identify contributors, assign creative roles, and propose songwriting ownership percentages totaling 100%.

A contributor can have multiple creative roles but receives one ownership percentage. Creating or administering a song record does not automatically grant ownership.

02

Invite Your Collaborators

Review the saved proposal, then send secure email invitations to your collaborators.

Contributors can review proposed allocations without creating Splitsville accounts. Each private invitation is tied to a specific revision and has its own expiration.

03

Get Everyone’s Confirmation

Each contributor reviews the complete allocation: every contributor, role, and proposed percentage.

They choose Confirm My Split or I Disagree. A record becomes Fully Confirmed only after every contributor has confirmed. Opening the link never counts as agreement.

04

Keep a Clear Record

Keep confirmed allocations and their revision history in your catalog.

When a confirmed allocation changes, everyone must reconfirm—even contributors whose own percentages did not change. The last fully confirmed allocation remains preserved while a new proposal is pending or disputed.

Make the conversation part of the process.

Start with your next song.

Bring the credits, the proposed shares, and the confirmations together.
